The importance of impulse (Malmö, Sweden, 16th of May 2014)
There was an idea of something outside the community, beyond democracy and the everlasting compromise. ”We” becomes ”Me” and the separate work of art becomes a concept. The immortalized moment is left behind and the title shall be seen as an initiated transformation towards something else. A resurrected ideal. A new beginning.
Bel Adore has been present for a long time. Long enough to be given allowance to grow, to be crystallized, mature and to be redesigned. For almost two decades music has been the centre of my universe and the love for tastefulness in virtuosity, the classic crooners and twang has paved the way for a strong belief in the personal expression. And the thought that over the years has grown from perception to conviction is once again put to the test; well-balanced influence from both heart and mind is rarely enough to obtain the truth. Or something with a meaning, something that sticks. Something so emotionally touching that it is impossible to defend oneself from it. For this, the erratic behavior of impulse is needed. To influence music and word. And form.
The metamorphosis is now entering the second stage and Bel Adore will from now on work according to a ”if you want to be certain somethings get done, do it yourself”-kinda-motto. The united voice of the collective will now stand aside for the individualists defiant claim for the good of the trial. And with a crooked back and a hidden fist the persuasion becomes introvert and will probably land in an ambiguity concerning the chosen motto. Well, regardless what the outcome will be, I’m for the time being quite content with the fact that it’s at least worth trying.
Yours sincerely,
B.A.
